Since the beginning of this year, the spot price of lithium carbonate has been continuously fluctuating and narrowing, while the price of energy storage systems has been consistently declining. In the power grid, grid-forming energy storage, centralized shared energy storage, and virtual power plants are all seeking value support. This brings new opportunities and challenges to the system products, application scenarios, and business models in the energy storage industry. The energy storage industry is shifting from being driven by price to being driven by value.

 

Currently, the share of new energy storage in power grid regulation is relatively small, indicating great potential for further development. According to the forecast, the energy storage market demand will reach 117 GW by 2025. As of November 30, 2023, China's cumulative installed capacity of new energy storage systems has reached 30 GW, leaving a development space of 87 GW for 2024 and 2025. "Quantitative change leads to qualitative change," and after experiencing rapid growth in actual capacity, it will become an undeniable force of change that cannot be ignored.

 

In light of the positive development trend, it is crucial to collaborate with market peers to explore value points in the industry. Global manufacturing, global delivery, and global service capabilities will become key. EVE has taken the lead in expanding its presence in international power battery markets, and has already begun overseas manufacturing in Hungary and the United States. It plans to build its first overseas energy storage plant in Malaysia by the end of next year or early the year after next.

 

Technological capability is the primary driving force behind industry development. In terms of product disruptive innovation, EVE Energy Storage has taken the lead in introducing a series of solutions such as "Mr. Big," "Mr. Giant," and LF314K based on user needs and industry pain points. These solutions can not only achieve large capacity but also enhance energy efficiency up to 96%, thereby greatly reducing users' electricity costs. To build a complete capability for the design, manufacturing, and delivery of battery cells and systems, this product will be manufactured in a 60 GWh super factory and ultimately cater to large-scale, long-duration energy storage applications.
